Day 78 Saturday: Van Gogh couldn’t help it

Weight:  177.6 lbs.  4/24/2010

Van Gogh couldn’t help it and if you eat compulsively you can’t either until you get back to natural foods.  Would anyone want to cut off his own ear?  Would anyone want to be 50% overweight and still head for big portions from the pantry or the refrigerator at the body’s command?  Compulsive eaters know that the difference between compulsive eating and hunger is that you might have recently eaten a big meal and are still compelled to eat!

Would one third of Americans want the same fate for themselves and their children:  Type II Diabetes?  See this CDC Fastat page on Diabetes.  Note the difference in projected rates between 2001 and 2007 by comparing against this  9 year old CDC forecast that now is woefully optimistic.  See this more general one on chronic diseases.

Compulsive, addictive eating is killing Americans.  Google Bart Hoebel at Princeton.  Here’s a nice layperson’s summary of his discoveries that sugar can be addictive depending on eating habits.  It’s clearly worded.

High Fructose Corn Syrup, too much salt, too much sugar, too much fat, too much oil, too many hormones, too much fatty meat and too many other high energy density processed foods are killing Americans.  Processed food addiction is by far the largest addiction in the USA.
